Richmond Hotels
Located on a meander of the River Thames, Richmond lies 13 km southwest of central London. It was a favoured locale for English monarchs from the 14th century onwards, with Henry VII building Richmond Palace there in the early 1500s. Today it is known as an affluent London commuter town with an authentic countryside feel. Richmond Bridge is the oldest surviving crossing on the Thames, while the oak woodland of Richmond Park makes it the perfect natural habitat for free-roaming deer.
Richmond Station is one of the western termini of the District Line on the London Underground system. It is also the western terminus of the London Overground line to Stratford and is served by trains from Waterloo Station on the National Rail service. From Richmond Station, travellers can catch onward connections to Reading, Staines, Windsor, Wimbledon and Weybridge.
